FAQ

  • What's the difference between CBD and THC?
Cannabis Hemp is a plant that contains THC, the psychotropic substance responsible for its euphoric effects. CBD, on the other hand, is a psychoactive cannabinoid that does not produce euphoric effects and is often used for its medicinal properties.
  • Is CBD authorized in France?
Non-medicinal cannabidiol (CBD) is authorized in France, as it is not considered a narcotic or a psychotropic drug. In France, Law no. 2021-1484 of December 30, 2021 on the reform of contract law, the system of securities and the law of obligations legalized the cultivation, import, export and marketing of CBD-based products containing less than 0.3% THC. Before being marketed and made available in various forms (essential oil, hemp flower, herbal blend, etc.), CBD is extracted from hemp cannabis and then purified, i.e. cleaned of any other active compounds that may be present.  All Oihana products come from varieties of Cannabis sativa L. registered in the French and European seed catalogs and containing less than 0.3% THC.  Legislation on CBD varies from country to country. However, in most European countries, CBD is legal as long as it contains no more than 0.3% THC.
  • Is CBD addictive?
CBD is a non-psychotropic compound in cannabis. According to current studies, including a 2017 WHO report, CBD does not present a risk of addiction.
  • What's the difference between psychoactive and psychotropic?
The terms "psychoactive" and "psychotropic" are often used interchangeably, but there is a subtle difference between the two. A psychoactive substance is one that acts on the central nervous system, altering perception, emotions, sensations, consciousness and motor skills. It may be of natural or artificial origin. A psychotropic substance is a psychoactive substance used for therapeutic or recreational purposes. It may be used to treat mental disorders or to induce desired psychoactive effects, such as relaxation, euphoria or disinhibition. In other words, all psychotropic substances are psychoactive, but not all psychoactive substances are psychotropic. While, unlike THC, CBD is not a psychotropic and does not cause dependence, it does have psychoactive effects, in that it acts on the brain.
  • What is the safety profile of CBD?
Compared with THC, CBD has an overall good safety profile, as the World Health Organization (WHO) made clear at its official 2018 conference in Geneva.  WADA, the world anti-doping agency, also agrees and has removed CBD from the list of banned substances. Cannabidiol can therefore be legally consumed by top athletes in their regeneration and performance goals. This is not the case with THC.
  • What are the effects of CBD?
Hemp (cannabis sativa L.) is an ancient plant with many virtues. Stress management In the psychological field, cannabinoids and terpenes have relaxing properties, reducing stress, anxiety and panic attacks, and helping you regain a state of inner well-being. Improved sleep CBD and the other active ingredients found in hemp flower (cannabinoids and terpenes) help you to fall asleep and enjoy a deep, restorative sleep. Pain relief CBD is recognized for its action on CB2 receptors located on T immune cells. Cannabinoids and terpenes thus have analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, helping to relieve certain types of pain, whether peripheral, centralized or neuropathic.  Smoking cessation aid CBD's anxiolytic properties give this molecule real potential in smoking cessation and other addictions.

Several studies demonstrate the effectiveness of CBD-based products as : Relaxants to help reduce stress and anxiety: the following study demonstrates the efficacy of full-spectrum CBD oil for anxiety (Clinical and cognitive improvement following full-spectrum, high-cannabidiol treatment for anxiety: open-label data from a two-stage, phase 2 clinical trial) Relaxants to help reduce sleep disorders Soothing agents to help reduce chronic pain. The following studies have demonstrated a reduction in pain in patients taking broad-spectrum CBD oils: The Therapeutic Effectiveness of Full Spectrum Hemp Oil Using a Chronic Neuropathic Pain Model The anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of formulated full-spectrum cannabis extract in the treatment of neuropathic pain associated with multiple sclerosis Different organisms respond differently to our products. Not all organisms are the same. So you need to start with small doses and increase according to the desired effects. It may be that the body is not receptive to the various active ingredients in our plants. It is estimated that around 80% of the population is receptive to the active ingredients in our plants.
  • Are the effects of CBD immediate?
Each of us is unique, and your metabolism, weight, CBD tolerance level and overall health can all influence how quickly you might feel the effects of CBD. The method of consumption also plays an important role in how quickly you may experience the benefits of CBD: Inhalation This method allows CBD to enter directly into your lungs, and from there, into your bloodstream. This is one of the fastest ways to feel the effects of CBD, usually within minutes. Sublingual By placing CBD under your tongue, it is absorbed by the blood vessels in your mouth and enters your bloodstream directly. This method can take between 15 and 25 minutes to take effect. Ingestion When you eat or drink something containing CBD, it must pass through your digestive system and be metabolized by your liver before entering your bloodstream. This method can take between 30 minutes and 2 hours to take effect.
  • Are our analysis reports reliable?
Yes, the cannabinoid analyses of our products are reliable. They are carried out by laboratories approved by the competent authorities. These laboratories use validated analysis methods and are subject to strict quality controls (the laboratories follow a strict protocol required by the decree of August 22 1990 implementing article R. 5132-86 of the public health code). It's important to consult the cannabinoid analysis when you buy hemp flower products to find out the quantity of cannabinoids present in the product: CBD, CBG... and THC content, which must not exceed 0.3%.
  • Are our products detectable with a saliva test?
No, CBD products are not detectable with saliva tests. Saliva tests are designed to detect THC, the psychotropic cannabinoid present in cannabis. CBD, on the other hand, has no psychotropic effects (it does not alter the consumer's cognitive and motor skills) and is not detectable by saliva tests. THC levels in our products comply with regulations set at < 0.3% (< 0.3%, is guaranteed by a procedure required by the arrêté́ du 30 décembre 2021 portant application de l'article R. 5132-86 du code de la santé publique). By way of comparison, Cannabis for recreational or medical use contains between 15% and 25% THC, or even 35% for the most potent varieties (THC levels between 100 and 200 times higher than in industrial or wellness hemp).  The minute quantities of THC remaining in our CBD products can, in rare cases, make a saliva test positive.  As each organism reacts to and eliminates traces of THC differently, we cannot guarantee that the consumer's body is free from the slightest presence of THC. Only a blood test can accurately identify the residual quantity and thus differentiate between recreational cannabis consumption and the residual traces of a full-spectrum CBD oil. CBD classified as a non-doping product. For athletes, in 2018, WADA removed CBD from its list of prohibited substances. This decision was taken following a scientific evaluation which concluded that CBD had no effect on sporting performance.
  • Can I take my bottle or CBD product to another country? By plane?
It's difficult to answer this question precisely. Not all countries, even in Europe, have the same vision of CBD hemp or the same THC tolerance levels. For example, Switzerland sells products with 1% THC, while France limits its products to below 0.2% THC. What's more, the rules on CBD change and evolve every year, so it's hard to say for sure. As a precautionary measure, we recommend that you do not take your CBD products abroad. We cannot be held responsible for the transport, export or use of our products abroad.
